ONE WHO HAS ACQUIRED SOME LEVEL OF EXPERTISE IN THE PREPARATION OF ESPRESSO-BASED COFFEE DRINKS.

IN ORDER TO BREW A PERFECT ESPRESSO, A BARISTA MUST MEASURE A PERFECT AMOUNT OF COFFEE GRINDS INTO A WIRE BASKET AND TAMP IT DOWN FIRMLY BEFORE LOCKING IT IN THE ESPRESSO MACHINE.

THERE HAS TO BE A PRECISE AMOUNT OF HOT WATER THAT RUNS THROUGH THE GRINDS FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME.  

THIS WILL ENSURE THE FORMATION OF THE ESPRESSO'S TOP LAYER CALLED CREMA.

 IN MAKING A LATTE, A BARISTA MAY HAVE TO STEAM MILK IN ORDER TO MAKE A GOOD FROTH. 

THE IDEAL FROTH WILL ALLOW THE CREMA TO FORM ABOVE THE STEAMED MILK.

 ONCE THIS IS MASTERED, LATTE ART CAN BE ACCOMPLISHED.
